My GE Phoenix Investigations

last updated 8/18/2001

I created a method to program the memory chip in this special version of the Phoenix called the   GE PSX-200 (Thanks to KG4LNE)   (or my old-doc) without a GE programmer. I used a normal off the shelf Eprom burner from MCT called the MOD-EMP Universal Programmer available from JDR or a Elnec programmer. There are other sites with info. I just made it work without the GE suitcase. KG4LNE has collected even more info and is even working on a program that will help program the eeprom.

I have a whole bunch of GE Phoenix's. This table has a collection of information I have gathered on them.
My Origional Outdated Programming docs  I have not needed to update my DOC but  KG4LNE has! Check out his site for more info on other versions of the Phoenix programing!
Current Doc for the PSX-200   PDF version
Some other Really neat stuff for the GE Phoenix SX .  Use as a remote base on a repeater. Also has a mod to allow a 2 channel radio to use all 16 of its hidden channel.  Programming the Phoenix s/sx . VO1CPU has a most excelent page on the Phoenix. He even has plans to build his own programmer.
Joe has an enhancment using the 68705 microprocessor for the Phoenix and other radio's..  Buck created the  9600 baud mod for the GE Phoenix. Works great on the PSX-200 as well.
